Electric coil for the dishwasher rinse-aid doser: this is the solenoid that operates the opening mechanism of the rinse-aid dosing flap on every rinse cycle.

When the control board sends the electrical pulse, the coil moves a small pin that releases the closing latch, allowing the dose of rinse aid to be released into the rinse water. The rinse aid breaks the water's surface tension, prevents streaks and spots on glasses and dishes, and speeds up drying.

Replace the coil when the doser no longer opens (burnt or open coil, no electrical continuity), when you hear the typical "click" but the flap does not release, or when dishes come out of the wash with streaks and water droplets despite rinse aid being present in the tank.
